The Cove Waterfront Restaurant and Tiki Bar (Deerfield Beach, FL) team recently experienced what it’s like to help save a life. Tom, General Manager, was alerted by a server about a medical emergency and stepped in to help, stayed calm under pressure, and led the response until paramedics arrived. An off-duty nurse and two off-duty firefighters who happened to be nearby jumped in as well, and together the group worked to help the guest until EMS took over.
Tom’s instinct to act was heroic and was a testament to the LMR training successes. Two years ago, our GMs completed CPR certification at the GM Conference, a program built for exactly this kind of moment. Paramedics on scene noted how well things were handled before they even arrived.
This is what it looks like to live our values under pressure. Thank you, Tom, and thank you to everyone at The Cove who showed up for a guest in need.
