LM Restaurants is celebrating a major culinary achievement as Vidrio Executive Chef Roberto takes home the 2026 NCRLA People’s Choice Award.

After advancing through preliminary and regional competitions, Chef Roberto earned one of just 15 spots in the NCRLA Chef Showdown Grand Finale, held at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, NC. The sold-out finale brought together some of North Carolina’s top culinary talent for an evening celebrating local ingredients, creativity, and the state’s vibrant food culture.

And when the final votes were counted, Roberto was named the 2026 NCRLA People’s Choice Award Winner.

“It was an incredible experience competing alongside some of the best chefs in North Carolina, and I’m truly honored to have been recognized this way,” said Barth. “I’m grateful for the support and proud to represent Vidrio.”

“We are so proud of Chef Roberto winning People’s Choice! His flavors and creativity were on full display and people responded to his talent,” said Amber Moshakos, President of LM Restaurants.

Three LMR Chefs, One Big Showing

Roberto wasn’t the only Raleigh, NC, LM Restaurants chef to make an impact during this year’s Chef Showdown.

Chef Rob of Birdie’s Barroom & Kitchen put in a strong showing during the preliminary round, proudly representing Birdie’s and LMR.

Chef Spyros of Taverna Agora also battled through the preliminary competitions and regional semifinals alongside Roberto, earning his place in the Grand Finale.
